Ollie World Swaddle | My Review

Let's talk swaddling! I can not say enough about the benefits of swaddling your newborn. Finding the right swaddle is not just helpful, but ESSENTIAL to your baby's comfort and ensuring they develop good sleep patterns. I have two little ones, our daughter is 18 months and our son is 7 weeks old. Both of our children are not good sleepers. From the moment we brought Addison home from the hospital she struggled to sleep well. We tried using the traditional swaddling blankets, but they seemed to fall short in helping her sleep in longer stretches. She would always manage to wiggle her way out of them, no matter how tightly we wrapped her. We eventually found a swaddle with velcro that worked well. My husband suggested that we bring it to the hospital with us this time around so we could start Finn it right away. Sadly, this hasn't helped with Finn's sleep at all. The only way he will get any rest is if he's being held the entire night. He could be in a deep sleep and as soon as you try to put him in his bassinet, he awakes immediately.

This is one of the main reasons why I love the Ollie World Swaddle! Not only is it super cute, especially it's packaging (this is something I always admire in products) but it is designed to replicate what it feels like to be held. Our daughter was the same way. She needed to be held constantly too. The swaddle we had for her seemed to help; however it didn't do the trick quite like we had hoped.

Another plus for the Ollie Swaddle is the velcro that goes all the way down the side. This feature allows you to swaddle your baby according to their size and to accommodate your child as they grow. It also helps to hold your baby in tightly, however, not overheat them. This swaddle is made with something called "Moisture-wicking threads" that are interwoven into the fabric to reduce the risk of your baby overheating. This is something that is always on my mind because the other swaddles we would use would always cause our babies to sweat. I would remove the swaddle to nurse in the night, only to find my little one wet from overheating.

My honest review of this swaddle is that it is a game changer. If I'm being honest, we still struggle to get him to sleep without being held; however, the Ollie has helped ease us into this transition. Since using it, we have seen a dramatic change in how Finn can sleep on his own, in the bassinet for a couple hour stretches. What a difference! I absolutely love the design feature of the swaddle that allows you to open the bottom to make nighttime diaper changes easy! I also love that you can swaddle with your babies arms in or out. What does this mean? It means that once your baby is able to roll over on their own, you need to adjust the swaddle to ensure safe sleeping. The Ollie design makes this possible. My number one thing I look for when purchasing a product for my children is, safety. If the product isn't safe then I obviously will not purchase it. I would recommend this product to any mama out there who is looking for the best alternative to holding your baby all night and ensuring you get the sleep both you and your baby needs. I have noticed that this swaddle eases the transition from the womb into the world. This is one of the therapeutic benefits of the swaddle and I must say, it lives up the hype!

Now, if anyone you know me, you know that I don't like spending a lot of money on products. I am always looking for a good deal and can usually find a cheaper alternative. However, let me tell you that I truly believe The Ollie Swaddle is worth the money. It is more expensive at $59, but the benefits outweigh the cost.
